Hi friends,
Sabrina Stillwell here, from the Escondido church.
Anne allowed me to say a few words about the Olympics and Interfaith at our ACom Zoom meeting a couple of weeks ago. Thanks Anne!
I served as Committee on Publication in Utah during the 2002 Olympics and also had the privilege of being a Chaplain for the athletes.
We’re starting a Christian Science Committee in support of the 2028 Olympics here in SoCal, and I”m wondering if any of you are involved in a greater Los Angeles Interfaith group so we could get a contact into first, the Interfaith committee, and second, for the selection of Chaplains for the Olympics. The Olympic charter requires spiritual resources for the athletes and their entourages, The 5 major global religions — Christian, Jewish, Muslim , Buddhist and Hindu., must be represented.
In Utah the Interfaith Committee began about 3 years out, and here we are for the 28 Olympics.
Please contact me, if you have any information or leads or interest in helping with this budding committee.
